The Franklin Pourhouse September 17, 2009 - We just played our first show at this gorgeous gem of a bar. We had a great response and you really need to see this place for yourself... The Franklin House was built in 1855 by William Graydon and Peter Douglas. It was originally built as the private residence of Peter Douglas, who in 1859 went on to sell it to Bennet Franklin, a partner in Barber Brother's Toronto Woollen Mills. Following Franklin's death the building remained named "Franklin House". In 1877 the building was converted to a Hotel and Public House which eventually in 1910 under new ownership was renamed "Queen's Hotel". In 1927 it ceased to operate as a hotel with the enforcement of the Canada Temperance Act, but has continued to be used for commercial purposes. The building is said to have narrowly escaped demolition in 1979, and today The Franklin House is designated and protected under the terms of the Ontario Heritage Act. In 2008 The Franklin House opened it's doors, carrying on the tradition and paying tribute to the original building and it's history. |

The Rose & Crown September 2, 2009 - We're playing for the first time at the Rose & Crown (Yonge & Eglinton). Come and check it out. What else are you doing on a Wednesday night? In November of 2004 The Rose & Crown celebrated 25 years at Yonge & Eglinton, in the heart of Toronto. Since November 1979, it has become an institution in the area. We are noted for being a place to meet, gather and enjoy the company of good friends. The Rose & Crown is one of Uptown's more popular neighbourhood pubs. The owners, who reside in the area, have re-opened with the challenge of maintaining the friendly atmosphere of a local pub. The Rose & Crown is an ideal venue for your get together, from 5 to 100 people, we can accommodate you. We serve up traditional British fare, as well as dishes for the Canadian taste. Jake's Boathouse July 29, 2009 - We just did our first show at Jake's boathouse last Saturday July 25th, and it was great!
